Meet Yulia Kolpakova, Consultant, Technology in our Hong Kong office. Yulia, a reformed coffee drinker and a lover of War and Peace loves a good challenge!
Tell us about your role?
As a technology consultant, I’m responsible for designing and implementing solutions for our clients. My day-to-day mainly consists of programming, conducting workshops and training sessions.
What’s one of the most interesting parts of your job?
I enjoy the process of breaking down complex problems and designing elegant solutions that meet our clients’ needs.
What do you love most about what you do?
I love being able to grow both my technical and soft skills - I can always find a new challenge for myself and it keeps me motivated and engaged.
What does being an Appnovator mean to you?
Being part of a diverse and supportive team, delivering high-quality work and positively impacting our clients.
Can you tell us about a project you found interesting and why?
One project that stands out in my mind is an engagement with one of the oldest organizations in Hong Kong, where we were tasked with consolidating project, resource and budget management into a single platform. It was interesting because we had to work with a very complex workflow, and we developed a custom plugin that integrated seamlessly and provided a single source of truth for budget and resource management. This project was a great example of how technology can be used to solve complex business problems and drive organizational transformation.
What are you learning about currently?
I’ve been learning about cloud architecture and services and recently got my first AWS certification. I’m also interested in BI platforms and how data can fuel digital transformation and unlock new revenue streams
In 3 words, how would your family and friends describe you?
Caring, dedicated and resourceful.
In your time off, what’s your favourite hobby?
Reading and playing piano are both my #1.
What do you do to relax?
Walk in nature, meditate or go for a hot yoga class - it’s more relaxing than anyone might think!
What is your favourite meal?
I can’t live without steak.
What is the bravest thing you've done?
Travelled alone and worked across Asia from a very young age.
What’s the last song you listened to?
Absence by Clarian.
