Business Challenge
Sprawled across many campus locations, the University of California HR department decided unity was needed. Looking to consolidate all HR services into a single digital solution that was user-friendly, accessible, and most of all supports the requirements of their over 200,000 staff and academic employees.
Our Approach
For both the design and development of this new portal, our team used innovative, agile methods to deliver client requirements. Our design carefully incorporated web accessibility and screen-reader features, delivering a fully accessible site, for all users.
Appnovation created a role-dependent dashboard and overall portal with readily available benefits information, policies and other HR-related information.
During the design stage, University of California stakeholders were invited to undertake performing contrast testing on all design mock-ups, ensuring that the development and implementation complied with WCAG 2.0 guidelines.
Customer Outcome
With a new, innovative, UI and U X focused portal, the University of California’s UCPath Center has a single, payroll, benefits, human resources and academic personnel system solution for all UC employees at all locations.
Today, almost 80 percent of employee and faculty questions are answered via self-service functionality through UCPATH, and calls to the center have been reduced to 20 percent of the call volume before the portal was launched.
