Salesforce decided to upgrade from their previous system, which used a traditional integration approach, to implement more advanced and scalable multipoint integrations with MuleSoft. This move aimed to significantly enhance their system's scalability and flexibility for future demands.
The solution included a mandatory end-to-end (e2e) test that wrote or updated data in a source system. The test watched target systems that verified if changes made in the source were accurate. Additionally, we incorporated Splunk which enabled simplified tracking for single record changes across all integrations. The architecture allowed a publisher to read from a source system, then publish records to a RabbitMQ exchange. Subscribing flows were set up that listened to various queues, in which the RabbitMQ exchange facilitated routing messages to these queues.
Salesforce can now scale its operations to service internal SFDC business partners across functional domain areas. The tracking system now enables developers to integrate this tool faster than before, resulting in significant time savings. Also, multiple subscribers can now listen for changes in a source system, and publish those changes to target systems.
